Unforetold: Witchstone

 Overview

Unforetold: Witchstone is a CRPG set in a unique world that was created with the help of Ed Greenwood; Creator of the Forgotten Realms. 

The game utilizes an Influence System. This system allows the player to make NPCs perform specific tasks such as Meet Me, Take This, Give Me, Attack, Follow Me, Join Me, and many more. The player can pick an approach that best suits their skills and playstyles for the best chance of succedding their Influence check.

Unforetold Witchstone relased into Early Access in January 2024.

Role:
Gameplay Integrator

In my role, I was responible for the following:

 

  • Narrative Integration

  • Quest Design and Integration

  • Level Prop Integration

  • NPC Traits and Equipment Integration

  • Influence System Integration

  • Milestone Art and Trigger Integration

  • Game Testing and Polishing

What did I learn?

I learnt a lot on this project as it was my first foray into PC games and the RPG market. Also it was the first time I have worked professionally with Unreal Engine or released a game into Early Access.

I learn the following over the course of a year:

  • Perforce

  • Hansoft

  • Unreal Engine 4

  • Custom Tools to make Unforetold: Witchstone

  • Integrate multiple systems together to create a cohesive experience

    • Dialogue​

    • Quests

    • Wants

    • Milestones

    • Appreciation

    • Equipment

  • Work with Engineers to improve tools

  • Work with Art to improve visual asthetics

I've always waned the opportunity to work on a game like this and I've finally done it. I had a great time working on the project and I look forward to making more RPGs in the future.
